The situation

A girl called Daisy has somehow got a reputation for being "a liar" — once, ages ago, she told a story that turned out to be exaggerated, and the label stuck. Now, whenever Daisy says anything, kids roll their eyes: "Yeah, sure, Daisy." Even when she's clearly telling the truth, nobody believes her. A boy called Sef sits near Daisy and has noticed that lately she really is being honest — but the old label means it doesn't matter what she says. He's watched her tell the plain truth and get laughed at anyway. He didn't give her the reputation, but he goes along with the eye-rolling because everyone does. Daisy is stuck being punished for an old version of herself.
