The Cheating Offer
There's a big test tomorrow that you haven't revised enough for, and you're worried. At lunch, a kid who sits next to you leans over and says, "Don't stress. I'll angle my paper so you can see my answers. Just don't be obvious." He says it like he's doing you a favour, like it's no big deal, like everyone does it. You could say yes and probably do fine on the test. You could say no and risk a bad mark you'll have to explain at home. The offer is right there, easy, and he's already assuming you'll take it. The bad mark feels like a real problem. Cheating feels like an easy escape. Both have a price.
Would you rather walk into a test unready but honest, or cheat your way to a pass? Why?
