80 Fun Questions to Ask Kids (Dinner Table & Car Ride Edition)

Some questions get a real answer in one shot: "What's the funniest thing that happened at school today?" gets more out of a kid than "how was school." Below are 80 fun, easy, no-prep questions — good for dinner, car rides, or any stretch of time you'd rather fill with talking than screens.

How these work best

Pick one, ask it out loud, and actually wait for the real answer — resist the urge to jump to the next question the second you get a one-liner. The best ones almost always start with "wait, why?" or "what happened next?"
