The situation

A boy called Leo got labelled early by a teacher — loud on the wrong day, maybe, or a bad start to the year. From then on, the teacher treated him as "the difficult one." When something goes wrong in class, the teacher's eyes go to Leo first. When he puts his hand up with a good answer, there's a flicker of surprise. The strange thing is, Leo has started to become it. Why bother being good if you're already the bad one? The teacher's version of him is slowly turning real, as if being treated like trouble is teaching him to be it. An adult decided who Leo was. And now he's not sure how to be anyone else in that room.
