The Review She Made Up
A girl called Esme runs a little channel where she reviews things, and her aunt asked her to "give a nice review" to a product the aunt is selling — even though Esme has never actually tried it. Esme films herself saying it's "amazing" and "her favourite," describing how great it is, all made up. Her aunt is thrilled, and a few of Esme's followers say they're going to buy it because of her. Esme didn't try the product. She said it was her favourite to help her aunt. Now real people are spending real money based on her honest-sounding review, which wasn't honest at all. She got her aunt's approval and some attention. The followers trusting her are buying something on the strength of a recommendation she completely invented.
