The Friend Who Wanted Him to Take the Fall
A boy called Yusuf has a friend, Charlie, who broke a classroom tablet by dropping it. Charlie's already in trouble a lot this term and is terrified of what happens if he's blamed again. So Charlie comes to Yusuf with a plan: "You've got a clean record — if you say you did it, you'll barely get told off. If I say it, I'm done for. Please. Take this one for me." Yusuf didn't break the tablet. Charlie is asking him to confess to something he didn't do, using Yusuf's good reputation as a shield. Charlie's fear is real, and he's a friend. But the plan means Yusuf lying, taking a punishment that isn't his, and carrying a mark for something Charlie did.
