The situation

A boy called Leon plays for a football team, and his coach really wants to win the league. For an important match, the coach quietly tells the team to say that a strong player, who's actually a year too old for the league, is younger than he is. "Just say he's ten if anyone asks," the coach says. "It's not a big deal. Everyone's team bends the rules a bit." Leon looks up to his coach and wants to win too. But he's being asked, by a trusted adult, to lie to officials about a teammate's age to cheat the rules. The coach makes it sound normal, even loyal — like backing the team. Leon isn't sure. Lying for your coach feels different from a playground fib, and something about it doesn't sit right.
