A girl called Hana is being driven home by her friend's dad. On the way, he stops to quickly buy something, and when he gets back in he's been on his phone and seems distracted. He clips a parked car's mirror pulling out — a small bump — and keeps driving. Then he says to Hana, "If anyone asks, we came straight home, okay? No need to mention the stop or the little bump. Our secret." Hana feels uneasy. A grown-up — one she's supposed to trust — is asking her to lie about something that, even to her, seems like it might be wrong. She doesn't fully understand the rules adults have about bumps and cars, but she knows being asked to keep it secret and say they "came straight home" doesn't feel right. He's an adult. She's a kid. And he's asking her to cover for him.
