He Knew He'd Gone Too Far
A boy called Sam was play-fighting with his cousin and it stopped being a game. Sam got frustrated and shoved him hard — harder than he meant to — and his cousin hit the table edge and started crying. A grown-up came in and asked what happened. Sam's cousin, still crying, said "we were just playing." He didn't blame Sam. He gave Sam a way out. Sam could nod and let "we were just playing" be the whole story. But Sam knows the truth: it wasn't an accident at the end. He chose that shove. His cousin handed him an exit, and Sam has to decide whether to take it.
