There's a boy, Oliver, who doesn't fight back. When kids tease him, he goes red and quiet, or laughs along nervously, or pretends he didn't hear. Because he never pushes back, he's become an easy target — the one some kids go to when they want a guaranteed reaction or a safe laugh, because they know nothing will come back at them. A kid in the class has noticed something uncomfortable: Oliver gets picked on because he's gentle, not in spite of it. The very thing that makes him kind is the thing that's made him a target. And the kids who target him would never dare do it to someone who might push back.
