The situation

A girl called Amara found a purse in the school corridor with money and a bus pass inside. She handed it straight in to the office, which was the honest thing to do. But when word got round, instead of being praised, some kids called her a "goody-goody" and a "teacher's pet," and even joked she should have "split the money." The girl whose purse it was barely said thanks. Amara did the right thing, and somehow it left her feeling foolish and a bit alone — like honesty had cost her something and given nothing back. She's starting to wonder if being honest is even worth it, when doing the right thing got her teased and the wrong thing might have got her money and a laugh from the group.
