The situation

A boy called Marcus watched another kid, Leo, cheat his way to winning the class reading competition — Leo lied about how many books he'd read, listing ones he'd never opened. Leo won the prize, got his name on the wall, and everyone congratulated him. No one found out. Marcus knows. He also knows that Leo got something real — praise, a prize, his name up — for something he faked. It bothers Marcus that cheating actually worked, that Leo is walking around as the "winner." Part of Marcus thinks someone should know. Part of him thinks it's over, Leo won, and saying something now would just look like sour grapes.
