Kai says he "definitely texted" when he didn't, that he "was just about to give it back" when he wasn't, that he "never said that" when everyone heard him. None of it is huge. But it's constant. Ben is starting to notice he doesn't fully believe anything Kai says anymore. Even when Kai is probably telling the truth, Ben finds himself doubting. Kai hasn't done one big terrible thing. He's done a hundred tiny dishonest things, and they've added up to something Ben can feel but can't quite point at.
