The situation

In an online game with chat, you made a new character and decided, just for fun, to pretend to be older and cooler than you are — you said you're 15, that you're great at the game, that you have stuff you don't really have. A couple of players believed you and now treat you like you're this impressive older kid. One keeps asking to be your friend and chat more. It started as a harmless bit of pretending. But now people are relating to a fake you, and one of them wants to get closer to a person who doesn't exist. Keeping it up means lying more. Dropping it means admitting the cool 15-year-old was made up. And you're not totally sure who you've been talking to either.
