The situation

A girl called Zoe followed someone online whose life looked perfect — beautiful photos, amazing holidays, flawless room, perfect friends, always happy. Zoe started comparing her own ordinary life to it and feeling like hers was dull and small by comparison. Why didn't her days look like that? What Zoe couldn't see was the truth behind the pictures: the dozens of failed shots before the good one, the bad days never posted, the boredom and arguments and worries that everyone has and nobody uploads. She was comparing her whole messy real life — the inside of it — to someone else's carefully chosen highlights. It wasn't a fair fight, and it was quietly making her miserable. She was measuring her behind-the-scenes against someone else's best bits.
