When They Wanted You to Cover
Your friend did something they shouldn't have — broke a rule, skived off, took something, you're not even sure of all the details. Now a grown-up is asking questions, and your friend wants you to back up their story. To say you were with them when you weren't, or that you didn't see what you actually saw. "You're my friend," they said. "Just say it. Don't drop me in it." And part of you really doesn't want to drop them in it — they're your mate, and loyalty matters. But the story they want you to tell isn't true, and you'd be the one saying it to the grown-up's face. Being a good friend and being honest have suddenly lined up on opposite sides, and your friend is watching to see which one you'll pick.
