A boy in the year above, called Marcus, is good at getting people to do things. He doesn't shout or threaten. He just makes everything sound easy and fun, and somehow people end up agreeing. This week he talked a group of younger kids into taking something from the corner shop "for a laugh" — he stood outside while they did it. One of those younger kids is your friend. Afterwards, your friend looked sick about it, but kept saying it was fine, Marcus said it was fine. Marcus, meanwhile, didn't take anything himself and acts like he had nothing to do with it.
