An older kid you sort of know waves you over behind the sports hall at lunch. A few others are there. One of them holds something out to you — a vape — and says everyone's tried it, it's nothing, don't make it weird. They're all looking at you, half friendly, half testing. You've heard plenty about why it's a bad idea.
