A girl called Priya spends a lot of time as her online self. There's the Priya at school and home — and then there's the Priya in her feeds, chats, and posts, who has become almost a separate person. Online-Priya has opinions she'd never say out loud, a confidence she doesn't feel in person, a whole social life that real-Priya watches from behind a screen. Lately the online one is winning. She'd rather be online-Priya — funnier, bolder, more in control — than real-Priya, who feels quieter and less impressive by comparison. And real-Priya, the one who has to go to school and sit at dinner, is starting to feel like the lesser one.
