The situation

On the bus home, a boy called Ethan watched an older, bigger teenager start picking on a smaller kid a few seats up — taking their bag, flicking their ear, getting louder. The smaller kid looked close to tears and totally alone. Ethan felt the unfairness burn in him. He also knew that if he marched up there himself, he could end up the next target — and the older kid was much bigger than him.
