The Video They Pushed Him to Film
A group of boys wanted a video of one kid, Reuben, doing something to another kid — a "prank" that was really just shoving him, or grabbing his bag, or scaring him — so they could post it for laughs. They kept hyping Reuben up: "Do it, it'll be hilarious, we'll all film it." Reuben didn't really want to. The other kid hadn't done anything. But the group was buzzing, the phones were already out, and saying no would mean being the one who bottled it in front of everyone. The video would get views. The kid in it would get humiliated. Reuben had a few seconds to decide whose side he was on.
