The Joke Account
Some kids in Year 6 set up a "joke" account — an anonymous page where they posted memes mocking people at school. At first it was teachers, then it crept to students: unflattering photos, mean captions, rating people, exposing embarrassing moments. A girl called Hana was invited to help run it. It was exciting to be on the inside, to be one of the ones who knew who was behind it, to feel powerful instead of picked-on. But the targets were real classmates, some of whom were now scared to come to school, and the account hid behind being "just a joke." Hana had to decide whether being on the inside was worth what the account actually was.
