Four kids were put together for a school project and set up a group chat to plan it. At first it worked well. Then one of them, Marcus, stopped doing his part — but stayed very active in the chat, joking around, sending memes, and arguing with people's ideas. When the others gently said he hadn't done his bit, he sent a string of laughing emojis and a message that made one of the quieter kids look stupid. Now two of them are upset, the work isn't getting done, and the chat is full of tension nobody knows how to fix. A space meant for working together has turned into something else.
