The Comparison Trap
A boy called Ravi was good at something — drawing, or football, or a game — and used to love it just for itself. Then he started following people online who were brilliant at the same thing: younger than him, more talented, more praised. Instead of being inspired, he started to feel hopeless. Why bother, when others were already so much better? The thing he'd loved began to feel pointless. He compared every attempt of his to the best person he could find online, and his own efforts always lost. Slowly, the joy drained out of something that used to be just his — a thing he did for the pleasure of doing it, before there was always someone better one tap away. The comparison didn't make Ravi better. It made him want to quit.
