The situation

Someone made a fake account pretending to be a girl called Yara — same name, her photos lifted from her real profile, posing as her. Whoever made it started messaging Yara's friends, posting embarrassing things "as" Yara, and being unkind to people in her name. Some people believed it was really her. Yara was horrified and powerless. She hadn't done any of it, but it was her face, her name, her reputation being used against her. She suspected it might even be someone she knew — maybe a former friend who had her photos and a reason to be cruel. She didn't know how to prove she wasn't the one behind the account, or how to make it stop. Someone had stolen her identity and was wearing it to hurt people.
