The situation

Your class is choosing an end-of-term activity, and you're the one running the vote. It came out close — one option won by just a couple of votes. The kids who wanted the other thing are loudly unhappy, saying it's not fair, that the vote was rushed, that loads of people didn't really get a say. Now everyone's looking at you. You could just declare the result and tell the grumblers to deal with it — you did run the vote, after all. Or you could listen to whether they have a point, even though reopening it is more hassle and might annoy the side that won. Being the one in charge of a fair decision is trickier than it looked when you put your hand up to run it.
